"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2

As young children we imitated heros, cartoon characters, siblings, and parents. We ran around the house with a towel tied to our neck, jumping from couch to couch. We were saving the day, we were fearless. We were superman, at least until Mom put a stop to it all. Affirming to us, how inappropriate it was to jump on the couch and run circles around the dog. Yes, we stopped jumping and running, but in our hearts we were still saving the day, there was nothing that could stop us. As we get older we may not necessarily be running around imitating superheros, we may just be trying to live. But, what does it mean to live? Is there more to life than working, eating, and sleeping? What makes us get up in the morning? As children we didn't have to answer these questions, we were too busy saving the day, but as adults we don't save the day for the day is already corrupt. Our perspectives changed. Why? Why, did we lose the simple faith?

Be encouraged, we do not have to see the day as corrupt, we can have that simple faith, we can still be saving the day. Christ has called us to live a life worthy of our calling. The calling of being like Jesus. Jesus was humble, gracious, sinless, patient, giving, loving, caring, confident in who God allowed Him to be. Christ is our example on how to live. Paul wrote, "To live is Christ, and to die is gain." Either way, we need to live like Chirst. In Christ, we can jump, run, we can save the day through Him. He has enabled us through His life and more through His death to live. His full character of who He truly is as God, and as Man is within our reach, We possess it all.

I urge you as children of God, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Eph 4:2) "Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity..."(Eph 5:15-16). Therefore, go run, jump, save the day for in Christ we imitate our superhero.
