O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go
George Matheson, 1842-1906

O Love that wilt not let me go, I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow May richer, fuller be.

O Light that followest all my way, I yield my flickering torch to thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine's blaze its day May brighter, fairer be.

O Joy that seekest me through pain, I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain That morn shall tearless be.

O Cross that liftest up my head, I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life's glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red Life that shall endless be.

Last night, I was reading hymns to my roommate, granted I tried to sing a few...but alas, I reverted to reading. This was the last one I read and it reminded me how important it is to cling to the Lord and the promises. No matter how life seems to be going, he is faithful and just to complete his work in us.

Lord thank you for your grace.
And...
Lord, may my heart's desire be to yield my life to you. May I truly seek to find rest for my weary soul? Through trials of school and of life, may 'I trace the rainbow through the rain' holding fast to the truths of God's faithfulness.

Isn't it sweet to know God's grace is free, and his love won't let us go?

P.S. Yay, for Christmas!!
